The Toulmin Method is used by college students all over the world to form a well written essay, however we can use it for more than that. The Toulmin Method can be used to help us think more critically when we read, or hear something in the media, in ads, any even from some "reliable" sources
What is the claim someone (or you) is making?
What grounds of evidence, data and reliable proof do you, or someone else have about this claim?
Warranting how your evidence ties into the claim. Think about how someone came to their conclusion, or how you came to a conclusion about something.
What other arguments can you use that is backing up your claim and your evidence you have?
Make the person listening to your claim know how qualified (qualifier)you are by how passionate you are about this claim.
Rebuttal the opposing side and see the issue from the opposite p.o.v
