A strange sound is often heard throughout the world, random people in random places all over the world hear The Hum causing physical and mental aliments, even suicide.
The Hum is a strange sound numerous people have experienced from Taos,New Mexico to Bristol, England and is usually identified by the name of "[city]'s Hum". The Hum is very interesting to research because it shows numerous points of view but one outcome that leads to the same conclusion... noise affects people mentally and physically.
The hum has been described, as stated by Dave Roos, as a humming sound mixed with a vibration which must be very annoying to hear all day long. The frequency for the hum is 10 to 200hz and for some strange, unknown reason only 2% of the population can hear it.
Power Grids is an Earthly explanation of The Hum.
Ocean Waves. Scientists have discovered that waves called Rossby Waves may actually be the cause of The Hum people hear and that has driven them crazy. This is an example of how Earth's random, weird noises can affect our psychological states. So far, this idea seems to be the most well received and has been even noted as the actual cause.
Mating fish to attract a female which makes a humming sound.
Tectonic plates
Mind control by the government using low-frequency sound waves.
Extraterrestrials trying to control and/or talk to us.
Tinnitus
Industrial plants
SkyQuakes
Cell phones
Radio Towers
Very Low Frequency Radio Waves
Gravitational waves.
spontaneous otoacoustic emissions which is from listening to yourself when it is very quiet and because these people have never had a moment of quiet to themselves due to constantly being around noise, when they did, they didn't understand what it was.
Some notable side effects of The Hum have been nosebleeds, and headaches.Sadly, people have actually committed suicide because of The Hum for the constant humming noise was too much for them to take. This fact shows that noises can affect our brains so much that they can drive us to insanity and to the point of suicide. Also, another factor is that strange noises can also annoy us so much so we go insane.Proving that sound and noise have a powerful impact on our psychological behaviors and our psychological well-being. Noises can not only affect our brain waves, but also just simply annoy us to the point of anger or anxiety. Anxiety because we want to get away from it and we can't eliciting our fight or flight response. Anger can be included because there is nothing we can do to get rid of the sound, and we feel powerless and just want some peace and quiet.
Although numerous reasons for the Hum exist from government mind control to some people diagnosed with tinnitus, the fact that certain sounds and frequencies can affect mental states. You may believe the government is brain washing us all into mass killing, or a mass suicide that failed, or the sound is a cause of a more modest approach. Regardless of what you believe, as you can see, sounds can and do effect our brain waves which in turn affect our emotions.
