If we think of our brains as a computer, association rule learning is the algorithm we are using when someone leaves the room and we see that as abandonment and that person never coming back.
What is it?
Association rule learning allows a computer to understand the relationship between two or more objects. Association rule learning also allows a computer to observe how often an event occurs between two or more objects.
How does it relate?
Association rule learning measures how often an event happens and if, for ex example and ask told you they were going shopping and never came back we may identify someone going shopping with never coming back. Firstly we are associate a partner leaving us permanently, then we associate that partner with leaving the house to go shopping. Association rule learning is why a computer can have a list, or pictures of veggies and fruits and weed out different reasons why 5 items out of 10 are fruits and 5 are veggies. It associates certain attributes to each and figures out which of those 10 items have them. An attribute a person with BPD, HPD, PTSD,etc has given to a partner is that they are their partner, therefore they will leave and abandon them after a fight, or being gone for a long period of time.
For someone with BPD, anxiety ,PTSD or any other "disorder" the likelihood of someone never coming back after a fight or going shopping is very high. For someone with BPD, PTSD, Anxiety. a partner going to the store to buy soda has a high chance of actually planning to leave permanently. This is due to a partner leaving someone abruptly in the past because now someone who has BPD, pTSD, anxiety associates their partner's behavior of stepping out for a bit with the behavior of someone who left indefinitely.
This can also be the effect of people dating people with BPD, pTSD and anxiety in an attempt to fix them but when they can't they abandon them. A person w with BPD, PTSD or anxiety associates This Behavior with the behavior of a future partner because they all have one thing in common they are dating someone with BPD, PTSD or anxiety.
In the mind of someone with BPD PTSD and anxiety someone dating them for a while until the novelty wears off and then abandoning them is highly likely to occur. This is due to the frequent number of times a person will date a person with BPD , PTSD, anxiety to fix them or because they think it's sexy how "crazy" they are only to leave once the fun wears off.
In the AI world these are called "item sets" associating different items together to make a group. The items in this case are abandonment and leaving temporarily to go somewhere, taking too long to call back, and any time a person is not around physically and emotionally. For the borderline, anxiety PTSD they group missed phone calls, taking too long to answer, leaving temporarily to go somewhere into an " item set" let's call "abandonment."
To a person with BPD,PTSD and anxiety, a partner, friend, etc of the person with BPD, PTSD , anxiety's behavior is associated with what that person will do in the future. According to someone with BPD, PTSD , and anxiety it is fear of not being good enough and their loved one leaving them. Especially not being good enough for someone due to people making them feel as though they were not good enough.
Similar to how the association rule learning algorithm has rules to track an item using occurrences that happen often the brain of someone with BPD, PTSD and anxiety does the same thing. In the case of someone with BPD, PTSD anxiety the "item" is abandonment.
There is nothing "wrong" with using this algorithm in determining data in science, or math so we must change the notion that there is something wrong with it when it appears in the mind of someone with BPD, PTSD, or anxiety.
