Food-related diseases (which are known as "obesity-related diseases") such as heart disease, diabetes (food related), high blood pressure, etc are all known as obesity-related deaths however, that is just a cover-up for the truth we do not want to face.
Recently, Bob Harper of The Biggest Loser is recovering from his first heart attack., hence if those diseases only belonged to obese people why do people of all sizes suffer from them. In an episode of Freaky Eaters (Freaky Eaters:Addicted to Diet Cola), a woman was very thin, yet drank a lot of soda and even though she was thin she was shocked to find out she was still pre-diabetic and had to change her drinking habits.
Dangerous
It is dangerous to assume that thin people can eat whatever they want without consequence. It is reckless to tell society that thin people can eat whatever they want without repercussion for only obese people have a heart attack or can obtain diabetes. "Obesity-related diseases" are caused because of a mixture of bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, stress, drugs, and even medications. Aiming these diseases toward only people who are obese causes people who are thin to think they can eat whatever they want and not exercise without consequences.
Obese people are a scapegoat for our own immortality.
The reason why obese people are a scapegoat for unhealthy eating habits is that thin people want to think they can never harm their bodies the way "they" do. As long as we keep trim, we can live forever, and eat whatever we want. We can drink as much soda or as much candy as we want, as long as we stay within our calorie limits and work it off. We want to believe that there is a remedy against immortality. We want to believe we can live forever and have all the pleasures of life eating pizza and cake as much as we want.
People want to punish those who are fat because people want to believe heavier people are unhealthy. People want to believe that the trick to living forever is to work out and watch our calories, but because fat can be healthy this disrupts our hypnosis that thin=immortal.
Fat people help others live under the illusion they are healthy
If people can convince themselves and others that the only way to get diabetes, heart disease or any other diseases is by being fat, people can convince ourselves that they are the model of health, they are healthy themselves since they are thin. This is why if a fat person IS healthy people must convince themselves otherwise because if a fat person can be healthy that means anyone can get "obesity-related diseases" thus forcing people to face their own immortality and acknowledging that death comes for us all no matter what size, gender we are.
Instead of pushing weight loss, as a society we must push living an active lifestyle along with healthy eating habits. Whole foods and exercise are not only for thin people or to lose weight, but to keep our bodies healthy and working correctly.
