The wave-particle duality describes how electrons and light photons can exist as a particle and a wave at the same time. Light, which should act as a wave, acts as a particle while electrons, which should act as a particle, act as a wave (Morningside.edu.n.d)It is both, and neither, one and the same. We are similar to the wave-particle duality. We are neither fat or lean, sane or insane, ugly or beautiful/handsome but we are also both fat and lean, sane and insane, ugly and beautiful/handsome.
When not being observed, scientists noticed that particles going through a slit splattering on a back wall acted exactly as a wave would react when it should be acting as a particle. They came to the conclusion that electrons are acting as both a wave and a particle when not observed, but as a particle when observed. Although not intended, this can be said for us as well.
When we are alone, we are neither fat, or thin, ugly or beautiful/handsome or sane or insane until compared to others in society. We will always be fatter, and thinner than someone else, prettier and uglier than someone else and crazier and more sane than someone else. Like the wave-particle duality, everyone is insane, ugly, fat and sane, beautiful/handsome ,and lean simultaneously. We are sane compared to the serial killer, but insane compared to someone who has no depression or anxiety. We are thin compared to someone who may weight a ton, but fat compared to a size 0 model, etc. We are all ugly compared to photoshopped IG models but beautiful/handsome compared to Shrek. We all all both and neither always, at the same time.
Similar to Wave- Particle duality, Schrodinger's Cat Interpretation demonstrates that matter exists in all states at the same time until observed. Like the fictional kitty cat we are on every spectrum at the same time. From empath to psychopath, from ugliest person in the world to most beautiful/handsome, happiest to sad.
Schrodinger's cat states that the "cat" is neither alive nor dead unless we open the box. In a way, we can relate this to ourselves for we are neither good looking nor ugly, nor are we insane until we let society tell us we are ("opening the box"). If we just sat in our room, alone without any tv, media, mirrors, or anyone to tell us otherwise we would not be able to be observed as too fat, not muscular enough, too thin, not sane enough, not pretty / handsome enough. We would never know if we were pretty, or ugly, sane or insane, fat or thin. We would just exist in a state of the unknown, in all states of beauty, ugliness, fatness , leanness, and sanity until someone observed us as one or the other. Ugliness / Beauty, insanity/ sanity , fatness/ leanness doesn't exist, but also does exist and we all exist in every state until proven otherwise, by opening up the box (listening and going into society's expectations) as the observer in Schrodinger's cat did.
